The inaugural Shark Eyes Team Trip and Giveaway went off with an absolute bang last week — an unforgettable few days spent with an incredible crew of ocean-minded humans. It was a massive undertaking: three boats, twenty people, and one remote stretch of coastline. What could possibly go wrong, right? Well, a couple of things did — but nothing could dampen anyone’s spirits.
At the heart of it all was what we call Seathos — the Shark Eyes ethos. It’s our way of life: connecting with like-minded people who live for the water, who thrive in nature’s elements, and who move through the world with respect and flow. Seathos is about balance — between adventure and awareness, performance and preservation — living in true synergy with the sea. It’s not just what we do; it’s who we are.
The day before departure, we got the call that the 75ft white boat had suffered a major mechanical failure and was out of action. The heart sank for a moment, but as soon as we told our giveaway winners, Topaz and Annie, what had happened, their response was pure gold: “No chance we’re cancelling!” These girls were completely unfazed, and we quickly regrouped, made adjustments, and got on with it.
By Saturday morning, the crew had travelled from all over to meet at the dock. Spirits were high as we loaded up and headed out to sea. Before we’d even set foot on the island, we’d landed a yellowfin tuna and a big sambo — Glen was already planning dinner before we’d unpacked the gear. With more cameras than humans, it wasn’t long before everyone was straight into the ocean: diving, spearing, exploring. The tone was set — this trip was going to be something special. The day ended with a few cold beers and an incredible dinner from GH Produce.

Sunday kicked off early with Shan leading us through an apnea and breathwork session to prep for the day ahead. With two boats, two jet skis, and a deep blue sinkhole waiting, we loaded up and set off. We rafted the boats together and dropped in — Oska and Dre were first into the depths, disappearing into the blue void that drops over 30 metres. Everyone took turns putting the morning’s breathing techniques into practice.

Between dives, the team captured a ton of new content for the upcoming Shark Eyes range — everything from new thermal gear to wetsuits, all being tested in real conditions.

Then came the “Squidnado.” We shifted slightly to chase fresh seafood for Glen’s live cooking demo, and within ten minutes, the crew had hauled in around 20 huge squid. Laughter, chaos, and ink everywhere — the perfect kind of mess.
Back on land, Glen led a foraging session, showing how to connect sea to land and what local plants can be used in everyday cooking. Topaz and Annie even convinced Rennie to eat a stick — questionable decision, but great laughs all around.
As the sun set, Oska and Glen transformed the tuna we’d caught into a premium-grade meal that could rival any restaurant. Full bellies, tired bodies, and big smiles — the crew was in their element.

We were up early again, ready to roll the shoulders and chase waves. Before we hit the water, we gave everyone a sneak peek at the new Shark Eyes range dropping soon. Skis were loaded, and the crew was dropped straight into the lineup.
Russell Ord put on a masterclass behind the lens, capturing unforgettable moments with Dre, Nush, Ryan, Walle, and Louis all working their magic in and out of the water. Walle scored the wave of the day, and the lineup energy was unreal.
As the day wound down, the laughter and storytelling around camp summed up everything Shark Eyes stands for — community, adventure, and a shared respect for the ocean.
We learned that Oska might have a few screws loose (even Ordy was lost for words), while Topaz and Annie quickly became part of the family, bonding with the crew and bringing their infectious energy to every moment.
Our final morning was mellow — a quick dive to soak in one last hit of saltwater and sunshine. You could hear the girls’ squeals of excitement echoing across the reef as we surfaced. We packed up camp, loaded the boats and skis, and made the run back to shore.
Nothing but pure stoke.

This was the trip of a lifetime — a reminder of what can happen when passionate people come together with a shared goal: to create, connect, and celebrate life in and around the ocean.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. As a brand, it's moments like these that shape the SEATHOS, our identity and future.
Go Shark Eyes.
