Larry Foiler

Shannon, known across the foiling world as Larry Foiler, lives in the South West, a stretch of coast with hundreds of quality breaks within an hour’s drive. What matters more to him is the abundance of lesser waves nobody rides, which is exactly what he wants for foiling.

He has been foiling since 2018. The name came out of the early days as a term for anyone addicted to the glide, someone who prioritises foiling above all else. It stuck to him.

In his working life he is a professional photographer. His shots run across Foil Drive’s site and print media, and he rides for them as an ambassador. The Foil Project has described him as a pivotal figure for foiling in Western Australia and beyond, largely for how he brings people into it.

He also founded LfSupply, which started with a practical problem. He bought a custom foilboard, wanted to protect it, and found nothing on the market. His wife made the first covers. When the family planned a big trip and he needed to move all his gear safely, he started designing properly.
